The installation of a federally inspected food processing facility for preparing, packaging, and cold storage of products and value-added products of the forest, with a local branding strategy will allow test marketing for new and innovative products as they are produced in Glendale from the Forest. Products from the Forest Field Station applied research and development projects can be processed on-site or in coordination with the lab and processing facilities of Partner organizations.
Sales for products of the Forest can be made at the Central Lodge planned for the site in the Gift Store.
As the Teaching Forest develops various activities, the products produced on-site can be sold at the Teaching Forest to visitors and through online sales. Examples of such developed products would be woodworking crafts and furniture, on-site food manufactured and value-added products from the Forest, and arts and crafts developed on-site.
