International Research Teaching Forests Incorporated ‘s Service Provision Goal:
To bring safe “Accessible Forest Learning For All “ TM by positioning as Nova Scotia’s leading private sector partner to the world for innovative, collaborative, research & development in agroforestry and value-added forest products, edu- eco-tourism, and wellbeing.
“Research Together for Forests Forever” TM work is achieved through offering an Accessible Living Classroom for demonstrative ‘ Applied Research and Educational Mentorship’ sharply focusing on community environmental, social, and economic viability, profitability, and sustainability – implementing a complementary blend of traditional and non-traditional ways of interacting with the Forest.
This Mission is accomplished by offering the following 5 Services.
- Forest Information to the Community including links to overviews of Forest related Policies and Strategic Plans
- Development of innovative Research & Development. Research currently underway: Research Project 1: a Global Perspective of Research Forest Innovation, and Research Project 2: Design of Innovative Tools for Teaching Forest Education
- We are developing a Forest Research Field Station: Open for Applied Research Business
- We are actively reaching out for Expressions of Interest toward creating a Non-Timber Forest Product Research Cluster that can provide World-Class access to consultation with global, national, and regional NTFP specialists for innovative product research, development, and marketing
- Growing our business model with a foundation of community input, we work to provide updated information, planning, and implementation pertaining to Forest Accessibility for research, eco-tourism, edu-tourism, and work mentorship programming. Through these sectors we aim to support local employment and help people of all ages, both individuals and groups, to thrive from the multiple benefits of the Forest while promoting demonstrative innovation of forest use and management. We aim to link with major global organizations and businesses to grow an interested group of experts locally and globally capable of achieving and measuring progress toward our growth objectives.
