Indigenous Community Maple Syrup Production Training Program
A Training Program on Maple Syrup Production was developed in Glendale for Wagamatcook Community members. This successful program – a joint partnership collaboration with Glendale and the Community of Wagmatcook- had long-lasting benefits for participating members from the Wagmatcook Community as they learned modern production techniques of Maple Syrup Production using state-of-the-art equipment and scientifically researched guidelines. This shared learning of research and development related to the commercial maple syrup operation marked the beginning of – inter-community sharing of knowledge and blending of traditional and non-traditional forms of experiencing Forest benefits and Sparked a Reawaking of one of the multitude of Traditional practices of the People of the Northeastern Forest.
